How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This opportunity would suit someone with a good mechanical aptitude who is fit and able to undertake practical fitting work, has a positive attitude and can follow technical instructions and established procedures. Previous extensive experience is not essential, as training will be provided where required.

Core Duties and Responsibilities will include:

    * Building and dismantling Fan Blade Ingestion test rigs in accordance with engineering requirements.

    * Following approved build procedures, technical instructions and safety guidelines.

    * Using hand tools, including spanners, torque wrenches, drills and taps.

    * Using measurement equipment, including micrometers and verniers, to check components and assemblies.

    * Completing build documentation and reporting any build problems where required.

    * Supporting engine testing activities and general test facility operations.

    * Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.

    * Supporting continuous improvement activities within the facility.

It is essential that the successful candidate:

    * Has a good mechanical aptitude and an interest in practical engineering or mechanical fitting.

    * Is fit and able to undertake hands-on assembly and manual handling activities.

    * Has good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.

    * Has a positive, reliable and flexible attitude.

    * Has good teamwork and communication skills.

    * Understands the importance of health and safety in an engineering environment.

    * Is willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

It is desirable that the successful candidate:

    * Has previous experience in mechanical fitting, assembly or a similar practical role.

    * Has experience using hand tools and basic measuring equipment.

    * Has knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications or assembly procedures.

    * Has an engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience.

    * Has experience working within an aerospace or manufacturing environment.

    * Has confined space or working-at-height experience.

Who will I work with (in my team and in collaboration with other areas)?

You will work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary engineering team, supporting test rig assembly, disassembly and engine testing activities. Training will be provided on relevant equipment, internal procedures, quality requirements and site safety standards.

    What are the working hours?

The role will operate on regular day shifts, with standard working hours of 40 hours per week.
