How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Business Development Manager - Health & Social Care

    £35,000-£45,000 Basic Salary + Commission | Full-Time | Fully On-Site | IG1, East London

Ready to win new business, build strategic partnerships and be rewarded for your success?

An established and growing health and social care organisation is seeking an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead new business growth across its care services and professional training divisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented business development professional to generate new revenue, secure contracts and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the health and social care sector.

With a competitive basic salary of £35,000-£45,000 plus commission, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible commercial impact while helping expand essential care and training services across London.

    The Role

You will take ownership of identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities, building relationships with NHS organisations, local authorities, commissioners, private healthcare providers and corporate clients.

From prospecting and networking to tender submissions, negotiations and contract wins, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth, strengthening market presence and developing long-term commercial partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities

Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities across health and social care services and professional training.

Build and maintain relationships with NHS stakeholders, local authorities, commissioners and private-sector organisations.

Develop and execute business development strategies to increase revenue and market share.

Generate leads, manage the sales pipeline and convert prospects into new contracts.

Identify tender opportunities and contribute to bids, proposals and commercial presentations.

Develop existing client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth.

Attend networking events, meetings and industry events to generate leads and strengthen partnerships.

Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity and revenue targets, providing regular reports to senior management.

Work collaboratively with internal operational and training teams to develop services that meet client needs.

    About You

We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded professional with a proven ability to build relationships, generate opportunities and deliver measurable business growth.

    You will ideally have:

Experience in business development, B2B sales, commercial partnerships or account management.

A track record of winning new business and achieving sales or revenue targets.

Experience in health and social care, domiciliary care, healthcare, recruitment, training or a related sector.

Knowledge of NHS procurement, local authority commissioning and public-sector tendering would be advantageous.

Excellent communication, presentation, networking and negotiation skills.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage a sales pipeline from initial contact through to contract award.

A self-motivated, target-driven approach with the confidence to work independently and take ownership of results.

Good organisational skills and familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.

    What's on Offer?

£35,000-£45,000 basic salary, dependent on experience.

Additional commission to reward business development success.

The opportunity to take ownership of new business growth and strategic partnerships.

A varied commercial role within an expanding health and social care organisation.

Exposure to NHS, local authority, private healthcare and corporate clients.

The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of care and professional training services.

    Location & Working Pattern

    Location: IG1, East London
    Working arrangement: Fully on-site
    Contract: Full-time

Please note that this is a fully on-site position and is not suitable for candidates seeking remote or hybrid working.
