How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Commercial Operating Model & Process Design Lead

    Location: Southwark, London
Rate: Up to £600 per day Umbrella
    Contract: Contract opportunity

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Operating Model & Process Design Lead to support a major transformation programme within a complex public sector environment in Southwark.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong social housing and commercial experience, alongside a proven track record of leading business process redesign, procurement transformation and operating model implementation.

You will play a key role in shaping and embedding an integrated commercial lifecycle, ensuring procurement, contract management, governance, systems, data and service processes operate effectively together.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end commercial lifecycle processes, covering procurement, contract mobilisation, contract management, supplier performance, benefits realisation and contract closure.
Develop and embed standardised operating principles, governance controls, workflows and decision-making frameworks.
Support the implementation of a hybrid hub-and-spoke operating model, clarifying responsibilities between central commercial functions and operational service teams.
Drive process simplification, standardisation and efficiency improvements across procurement and contract management.
Align commercial processes with financial governance, legal requirements, reporting systems and organisational assurance frameworks.
Develop approaches for monitoring commercial benefits, savings, social value commitments and sustainability outcomes.
Engage with senior stakeholders across procurement, finance, legal, governance, digital and operational teams.
Oversee the implementation of new processes, ensuring successful adoption and transition into business-as-usual operations.

    Essential Experience

Significant experience leading business process redesign and operating model transformation within a large, complex organisation.
Strong social housing and commercial sector experience.
Proven experience in procurement transformation, commercial lifecycle design and contract management process improvement.
Experience implementing category management approaches, centralised commercial functions or hub-and-spoke operating models.
Strong understanding of commercial governance, supplier performance management, benefits realisation and contract lifecycle management.
Experience aligning business processes with systems, workflows, management information and performance reporting.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, process mapping and business analysis skills.

    Interested?

If you have the relevant commercial transformation experience, particularly within social housing and complex public sector environments, and are available for a new contract opportunity in Southwark, I'd be keen to hear from you.

Rate: Up to £600 per day Umbrella.
