How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Accounts Receivable Analyst - Temporary

    Location: Nottingham (NG7)
    Salary: Up to £40,000
    Contract: 3-6 months
Hybrid working: Just 2 days in the office, flexible working hours and early finishes on Fridays

Looking for your next interim finance opportunity? If you enjoy getting stuck into the detail, solving problems and taking ownership of your work, this could be a great fit.

SF Partners is recruiting for a Nottingham-based business seeking a technically strong Accounts Receivable Analyst to join its finance team on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract.

You'll play an important role in reviewing and resolving outstanding debt, investigating complex account queries and improving the accuracy of financial records. This is an opportunity for someone who can get up to speed quickly, work independently and make a tangible difference.

Alongside a varied and hands-on role, you'll benefit from hybrid working, with just two days a week in the office, flexible working hours and early finishes on Fridays.

    The role will include:
    - Taking full ownership of multiple customer accounts, managing varying invoice volumes and levels of complexity.
    - Reviewing and investigating significant amounts of aged debt, with individual account balances reaching into the millions.
    - Carrying out detailed account reconciliations to identify discrepancies, missing payments, unapplied cash and historic differences.
    - Investigating long-standing queries, identifying the reasons behind outstanding balances and driving issues through to resolution.
    - Liaising with customers and internal teams to resolve disputes, obtain missing information and remove barriers to payment.
    - Using Excel to analyse and cross-reference financial data, with practical VLOOKUP experience essential.
    - Applying root cause analysis to identify underlying issues, implement solutions and help prevent recurring problems.
    - Following up on outstanding cash, aged debt and purchase order queries, ensuring actions are progressed promptly.
    - Updating finance systems, maintaining accurate records and producing reports to support effective ledger management.
    - Identifying historic balances requiring further investigation or consideration for write-off through the appropriate processes.

    About you:
    - You have strong, hands-on experience in accounts receivable, credit control or a similar finance role.
    - You are confident using Excel, with practical experience of VLOOKUP essential.
    - You have experience managing aged debt, investigating complex queries and carrying out detailed account reconciliations.
    - You're comfortable working with substantial outstanding balances and understand the importance of accurate financial records.
    - You have strong systems skills and can quickly learn new software and processes.
    - You understand root cause analysis and can explain how you investigate issues, identify underlying problems and implement solutions.
    - You're proactive, analytical and organised, with the confidence to take full ownership of your workload and work independently.
    - You're comfortable prioritising competing demands, making progress without constant direction and seeing issues through to completion.
    - You communicate confidently with customers and internal stakeholders to achieve practical resolutions.

Is this the right opportunity for you?

This role would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with financial data and bringing structure to complex accounts. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership, investigate issues in depth and make a real impact on the accuracy of the ledger and resolution of outstanding debt.

The client needs someone who can hit the ground running, quickly get to grips with their systems and processes, and confidently take the lead in progressing outstanding issues. If you have the technical ability, Excel skills and initiative to make things happen, we'd love to hear from you.
