How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Regional Sales Manager

    Birmingham | £ Negotiable + Commission | Permanent

Hariley Solutions are recruiting for a Regional Sales Manager to join an established engineering business based in Birmingham.

This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced technical sales professional to take ownership of regional sales, develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with customers across a specialist industrial market.

The business supplies technical equipment to industrial customers and provides ongoing service and support throughout the equipment lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing equipment sales, developing long-term customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand the business.

With the opportunity to progress into senior management within the next few years for the right person, this role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make their mark and develop their career.

    The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for developing and growing equipment sales across the UK, building customer relationships and identifying new commercial opportunities.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    * Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and growth targets.

    * Identifying and securing new business opportunities while developing existing customer accounts.

    * Building strong relationships with customers, key decision-makers and industry contacts.

    * Developing a thorough understanding of the market, customer requirements and competitor activity.

    * Managing the full sales cycle, from initial discussions and relationship building through to negotiation and securing orders.

    * Working closely with internal teams to develop proposals and ensure customer requirements are met.

    * Preparing accurate sales forecasts and reporting on pipeline activity, market trends and opportunities.

    * Developing a strong understanding of pricing, margins and overall account performance.

    * Representing the business at customer meetings, trade shows and industry events.

    * Taking ownership of regional sales activity, with the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the function.

    About You

We're looking for a commercially minded sales professional who understands technical sales and enjoys building relationships, winning new business and taking ownership of their territory.

    You will ideally have:

    * Proven experience in B2B technical sales, ideally within capital equipment, industrial machinery, automation or engineered solutions.

    * A strong understanding of your market, customer base and competitive landscape.

    * Experience managing complex sales processes with longer lead times and considered purchasing decisions.

    * A proven track record of developing customer relationships and securing new business.

    * A good all-round commercial understanding, including sales, marketing, accounts and profitability.

    * Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

    * Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload independently.

    * Confidence working with internal teams and customers at different levels.

    * A full, valid UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly, including overnight stays where required.

    What's on Offer?

    * A basic salary depending on experience.

    * Commission on sales.

    * A newly created role with the opportunity to shape and develop regional sales.

    * Potential to progress into senior management within the next few years for the right person.

    * Comprehensive initial training to understand the products, systems and business processes.

    * A varied role combining office-based collaboration with customer visits.

    * The opportunity to build long-term customer relationships and contribute directly to business growth.

    Location and Working Arrangements

Ideally based within a commutable distance of Birmingham, you'll spend the initial few months working closely with the team in the office to develop your product knowledge and understanding of the business.

Following the initial training period, the role will typically involve one to two days per week in the office, with the remaining time spent visiting customers and developing business across the region.

    Interested?

If you're an experienced technical sales professional looking for a new challenge, with the opportunity to make a real impact and progress your career, we'd love to hear from you.
