How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Lead the commercial property function, setting the strategic direction and delivering against ambitious business growth objectives.
Business Development: Identify and secure new business opportunities, develop key client relationships and expand the consultancy's presence across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
Client Management: Build and maintain trusted relationships with investors, developers, landlords, occupiers and other key stakeholders.
Revenue and Profitability: Take ownership of commercial performance, driving fee income, profitability and sustainable business growth.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team of property professionals, fostering a collaborative, client-focused and high-performance culture.
Market Expertise: Provide strategic advice and insight across the commercial property sector, identifying emerging opportunities and market trends.
Cross-Service Collaboration: Work closely with other service lines across the consultancy to maximise cross-selling opportunities and deliver integrated property solutions.
Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the business at senior level, enhancing its market profile and reputation across the region. Candidate Profile
We are seeking an established commercial property professional with the credibility, experience and ambition to operate at Director level within a leading consultancy environment.
    The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

MRICS qualification with substantial post-qualification experience in commercial property.
A strong track record in commercial property consultancy, ideally across agency, investment, asset management, landlord and occupier advisory, or a relevant combination of these disciplines.
Proven experience in business development, fee generation and winning new instructions.
An established network of contacts across the Birmingham and Midlands commercial property market.
Experience leading teams, managing client relationships and delivering commercial results.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to develop and execute business plans.
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
The confidence and gravitas to operate at board and director level.
An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities and translate them into sustainable growth. The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, highly regarded consultancy in a senior leadership capacity, with the scope to influence strategy, develop client relationships and make a significant contribution to the continued growth of the business.

The successful candidate will benefit from a high-profile role, access to an established client base and the opportunity to shape the future of the commercial property offering across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
