How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced Overhead Lines Worker looking for your next opportunity?

We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Lines Workers to join a growing team delivering essential electricity network infrastructure projects across Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced lineworkers to work on network upgrades, new infrastructure and maintenance projects, helping to strengthen and expand the electricity distribution network.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working across LV, MV and HV overhead electricity networks, including pole and tower work.

    The Role

As an Overhead Lines Worker, your responsibilities will include:

    * Installing, maintaining, repairing and refurbishing overhead electrical lines and associated equipment.

    * Working on low-, medium- and high-voltage electricity distribution and transmission networks, within your approved competencies.

    * Climbing utility poles and towers to carry out installation and maintenance activities safely.

    * Using MEWPs and other specialist access equipment where required.

    * Supporting planned maintenance, network upgrades and emergency fault repairs.

    * Carrying out overhead line construction and refurbishment works in line with project specifications.

    * Following all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

    * Working collaboratively with site supervisors and fellow lineworkers to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

    Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

    * Previous hands-on experience as an Overhead Lines Worker, Linesperson, Linesman, Lineworker or Powerline Technician.

    * Experience working on overhead electricity distribution or transmission networks.

    * Relevant experience across LV, MV and/or HV networks, with the appropriate qualifications and authorisations for the work undertaken.

    * Experience working at height on utility poles and/or towers.

    * Relevant health and safety training, including climbing and rescue qualifications.

    * MEWP experience or relevant training.

    * A strong commitment to safe working practices and compliance with industry standards.

    * A full driving licence where required.

Utility-approved overhead lineworker qualifications are essential for the relevant network duties. Candidates will be assessed against the specific authorisations required for the role.

Experience with fibre networks would be advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

    * €23.50 per hour starting rate for qualified lineworkers.

    * Permanent, direct employment.

    * Full-time work, with a standard 39-hour working week.

    * The opportunity to contribute to major electricity network infrastructure projects.

    * Potential for long-term career development within the power and utilities sector.

Location: Ireland. Candidates must be willing and able to work at project locations as required.

    Interested?

If you have hands-on overhead line experience and are looking for your next opportunity in the power sector, we would love to hear from you.
