How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Year 4 ASD Support

    Location: Redbridge LEA
    Start Date: Immediate Start
    Contract: Long-term
    Pay: £14.24 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Redbridge LEA. This is a long-term opportunity to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who presents with challenging behaviour.

This role is ideal for someone who is patient, calm, and consistent, with the confidence to set clear boundaries while building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the child's academic, social, and emotional development, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential.

    The Role

Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD.
Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and effectively.
Encourage engagement in classroom learning and social interaction.
Promote independence while providing appropriate guidance and reassurance.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, the SENCO, and external professionals where required.
Maintain accurate records of progress and behaviour.
    The Ideal Candidate

Experience supporting children with ASD and/or additional needs.
Confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management techniques.
Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Firm but fair, with the ability to establish clear expectations and boundaries.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Committed to making a positive difference in a child's educational journey.
If you are a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role from September 2026, we would love to hear from you
