How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Director - Structured Derivatives Product Control

    Location: London
    Salary: £130,000 - £150,000 base + bonus + benefits
    Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

    The Opportunity

We are working with a leading global financial services organisation to recruit a Director within its Product Control function, supporting a growing and highly sophisticated Structured Products and Derivatives business.

This is a senior, high-profile opportunity offering significant exposure to Front Office, Risk, Valuations and Finance leadership, with responsibility for ensuring robust financial control, accurate P&L reporting and the delivery of key Finance transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise across Structured Derivatives, ideally Structured Equities, alongside the commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills required to operate effectively at Director level.

    Key Responsibilities

Own daily P&L production, reconciliation and control processes across Structured Derivatives and Solutions products, ensuring accurate reporting of P&L and Greeks.

Partner closely with Front Office, Risk and Valuations teams to review and validate valuation adjustments, including CVA, DVA, FVA and Bid/Offer.

Analyse desk profitability, cost allocations and overall business performance, providing meaningful commercial insight to senior management.

Oversee month-end accounting adjustments relating to OTC derivatives and Structured Notes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Deliver robust balance sheet substantiation, reconciliations and legal entity P&L commentary.

Identify, investigate and resolve trade, valuation and portfolio discrepancies.

Drive Finance transformation initiatives, improving processes, controls, automation and operational efficiency.

Support the development and enhancement of trade flows between Front Office platforms and the General Ledger.

Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across Finance, Trading, Operations, Technology and Risk.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, operational risk frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements.

    Skills & Experience Required

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Significant Product Control experience within an investment bank, broker-dealer or comparable financial markets environment.

Strong knowledge of Structured Derivatives is essential, ideally including Structured Equities and Structured Notes.

In-depth understanding of derivatives P&L, Greeks, valuations, reconciliations and balance sheet controls.

Familiarity with valuation adjustments, including CVA, DVA, FVA and Bid/Offer.

Proven ability to engage confidently with senior Front Office, Risk and Finance stakeholders.

Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.

Experience identifying and delivering process improvements, systems enhancements or Finance transformation initiatives.

Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Front Office and Back Office trading systems.

Experience with Sophis, Python, SQL or Alteryx would be advantageous but is not essential.

    The Ideal Candidate

You will be an established senior Product Control professional, or a high-performing VP ready to progress into a Director-level position.

You will combine deep technical knowledge of complex derivatives products with a strong understanding of financial controls, commercial performance and the wider trading environment.

You will be comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, taking ownership of complex issues and driving improvements in a fast-paced, evolving business.

    What's on Offer?

Competitive base salary of £130,000-£150,000, plus bonus and benefits.

Director-level responsibility within an established global financial services organisation.

Significant exposure to senior Finance and Front Office leadership.

Opportunity to influence the development of Product Control processes and Finance infrastructure.

A challenging and commercially focused position supporting a sophisticated Structured Products business.
