How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy in Manchester is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team and lead the delivery of public-sector projects. The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of live schemes, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors to ensure successful delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who is confident operating in a delivery-focused environment and wants to take responsibility for complex projects.

The successful Senior Project Manager will be trusted to lead projects independently while supporting more junior members of the team. The Senior Project Manager will manage key client relationships, oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, quality and risk requirements. For an ambitious Senior Project Manager, this role offers the opportunity to strengthen their leadership experience and continue progressing towards Associate level.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Senior Project Manager's role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of public-sector projects from pre-construction through to completion, taking responsibility for day-to-day project performance.

Responsibilities will include managing project programmes, leading client and consultant meetings, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring progress and risk, preparing reports and driving projects through key delivery milestones.

The Senior Project Manager will also provide guidance to junior colleagues and help maintain a high standard of project delivery across the wider team.

    The Senior Project Manager

    The successful candidate will have:

Strong Project Management experience within a construction consultancy

Proven experience delivering public-sector, education, healthcare, civic or similar projects

A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

Experience leading projects through the full project lifecycle

Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

    Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams

Good understanding of programme, risk, governance and project controls

MRICS, MAPM, ChPP or another relevant professional qualification, or progress towards chartership

    In Return?

    £60,000 - £70,000

    Opportunity to lead public-sector projects

    Strong delivery-focused responsibility

    Clear progression towards Associate level

Exposure to complex and high-profile schemes

Opportunity to mentor junior Project Managers
