How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior / Associate Building Surveyor - Leeds
Leeds | Senior / Associate Level | Excellent Salary & Market-Leading Benefits | Clear Career Progression
    £70,000 - £80,000 Plus full benefits package

    The Opportunity

We are currently representing established Building Surveying consultancies in Leeds who are looking to strengthen their teams through the appointment of ambitious and commercially minded Chartered Building Surveyors.

These opportunities will appeal to individuals who are looking to take the next step in their careers, whether that involves greater responsibility for project delivery, client management, team leadership or progression towards Director and Partner-level positions.

Our clients are well-established organisations with strong reputations, established client relationships and a commitment to investing in their people.

The opportunities offer exposure to a broad range of interesting and technically challenging projects across both the public and private sectors.

    The Role

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a diverse property portfolio, including:
    • Public and private estates
    • Schools, colleges and universities
    • NHS and healthcare properties
    • Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Defence estates
    • Commercial and institutional property portfolios

Responsibilities will include delivering professional Building Surveying services, managing refurbishment and capital works projects, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the Building Surveying function.

For more senior appointments, there will also be opportunities to lead and mentor colleagues, contribute to business development and influence the future direction of the team.

    Who Are We Looking For?

We are particularly interested in speaking with Chartered Building Surveyors who can demonstrate:
    • MRICS qualification and a strong technical Building Surveying background.
    • Experience delivering professional services and project-related instructions.
    • The ability to manage client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
    • Commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering high-quality consultancy services.
    • An interest in developing leadership and management responsibilities.
    • Ambition to progress towards Associate Director, Director or Partner level.

We would welcome conversations with experienced Senior Building Surveyors seeking their first leadership appointment, alongside established Associates who may feel that their current opportunities for progression are limited.

    Career Progression

One of the principal attractions of these opportunities is the potential for genuine career development.

Our clients recognise the importance of succession planning and are committed to identifying individuals who can contribute to the long-term growth and leadership of their businesses.

For the right individual, there is a clear opportunity to develop beyond a technical delivery role into a position involving greater commercial responsibility, team leadership and ultimately Director or Partner-level progression.

    Package

Our clients offer attractive remuneration packages reflecting experience and seniority, together with market-leading benefits.

    Packages may include:

    • Competitive salary and performance-related rewards
    • Generous holiday entitlement
    • Pension and additional employee benefits
    • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
    • Structured professional development
    • Genuine opportunities for leadership and career progression

    Interested in Exploring Your Options?

We appreciate that many of the individuals we would like to speak with are not actively seeking a new position.

However, if you are beginning to question your longer-term progression, or would simply welcome an informed and confidential conversation about opportunities within the Leeds Building Surveying market, we would be pleased to hear from you.

All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Contact Russell Taylor Group for an initial confidential discussion.
