How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Training Co-ordinator - Ofsted-Registered Children's Residential Homes

Location: East London, with travel to London homes and Eastbourne as required

Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or Registered Manager looking for a new challenge where you can share your knowledge, develop others and make a lasting impact across residential childcare?

At SuperCare, we're looking for an experienced residential childcare professional to join us as a Training Co-ordinator, supporting the development of our teams across our children's homes.

This is an exciting opportunity to take your hands-on experience within residential childcare and use it to shape how our teams learn, develop and deliver outstanding care. If you're passionate about supporting children and young people, enjoy mentoring colleagues and want to make a difference beyond a single home, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

    About the Role

You will use your practical experience of working within children's homes to deliver engaging, relevant training that reflects the real-life challenges our teams face when supporting children and young people with complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

Working closely with the Training Manager and operational teams, you will help embed our therapeutic, trauma-informed and child-centred approach, ensuring staff have the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide outstanding care.

Previous training qualifications are beneficial but are not essential for the right candidate. We're particularly interested in people who bring strong operational experience, a genuine passion for developing others and a willingness to work towards the relevant training and assessment qualifications within an agreed timeframe.

This is a hands-on role combining training delivery, staff development, coaching and quality assurance, giving you the opportunity to influence practice, strengthen teams and make a meaningful impact across our services.

    Key Responsibilities

As a Training Co-ordinator, you will:

Deliver mandatory and bespoke training programmes across our residential children's homes.
Use your residential childcare experience to ensure training reflects real-life scenarios, challenges and the needs of our children and young people.
Deliver training that is trauma-informed, attachment-aware and child-centred.
Support the assessment of Level 3 Diplomas in Residential Childcare, working towards the relevant assessor qualification where required.
Coach and mentor staff, supporting their professional development and qualification progression.
Work closely with the Training Manager to implement training plans and priorities.
Collaborate with home managers to identify training needs and areas for improvement across services.
Support induction and onboarding, ensuring staff are equipped to work safely and confidently within our homes.
Maintain accurate training records and support audit and inspection readiness.
Contribute to internal quality assurance and standardisation activities, developing the relevant qualification where required.
Monitor training compliance, including refresher training and qualification requirements.
Ensure training aligns with safeguarding standards, regulatory expectations and SuperCare's policies and procedures.
Escalate operational challenges or risks to the Training Manager as appropriate.
Embed SuperCare's culture, values and "Only Outstanding" principles across all training delivery.

    About You

We're looking for someone with substantial experience in residential childcare who understands the realities of working in a children's home and can translate that experience into effective, engaging staff training.

    You should have:

Significant experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children's residential setting.
Previous experience at Deputy Manager or Registered Manager level, or a comparable level of responsibility within residential childcare.
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.
A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, trauma-informed practice and the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
Knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and relevant safeguarding guidance.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop staff teams.
A passion for sharing knowledge, coaching others and improving standards of care.
The ability to turn practical experience into meaningful, scenario-based learning.
A willingness to work towards relevant training, assessment and quality assurance qualifications within an agreed timeframe, if not already held.

    Desirable:

Level 3 Award in Education and Training or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    TAQA/A1 Assessor qualification or equivalent.
    Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
Previous experience delivering training, mentoring staff or supporting professional development.

    Working Pattern

This is a full-time position with flexibility required.

    Working hours: 9:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm.
Flexibility to deliver occasional evening or weekend training sessions in line with operational needs.
Travel between our London and Eastbourne homes is required.

    What We Offer

    Competitive salary package.
    Performance-related bonus schemes.
    Private healthcare.
    24/7 GP access.
    Gym membership contribution.
    Extensive training and CPD opportunities.
Fully funded Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications.
    Pension scheme.
    Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
    Wellbeing support.
    Clear progression pathways.
The opportunity to shape training and development across a growing organisation.
