How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

Teamjobs is recruiting Wiring & Assembly Technicians (Avionics) on behalf of our client, a specialist working with advanced electronic and avionic equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with soldering and assembly experience to join a quality-focused manufacturing environment, working on technically challenging products where precision, reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Our client is open to candidates at entry level, provided they have some relevant industry experience and practical soldering skills. You don't need to be an avionics expert, but you must be keen to learn, take pride in your work and be comfortable following detailed procedures and recording your activities accurately.

    Location: Basingstoke
    Pay Rate: £17.44 per hour

    Contract: 6 months
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)

    Key Responsibilities

Assemble and wire electronic and avionic equipment to the required specifications.
Carry out precision soldering of electronic components, including fine-pitch components where required.
Crimp, terminate and assemble connectors and wiring harnesses.
Read and follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions and work procedures.
Maintain consistently high standards of quality, accuracy and workmanship.
Complete detailed production records, activity logs and labour bookings for audit and traceability purposes.
Use computer systems to record manufacturing activities and maintain accurate documentation.
Follow quality procedures and work safely within a structured manufacturing environment.
Work independently and collaboratively to meet production targets and deadlines.

    Skills & Experience

We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

Practical soldering experience and a good understanding of electronic assembly.
Some relevant experience within electronics manufacturing, wiring, assembly or a similar technical environment.
The ability to follow technical instructions, drawings and established procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and a quality-first approach.
Good IT skills and confidence using electronic systems to record work.
Strong organisational skills and accurate record-keeping abilities.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Due to security requirements and project restriction on this site all worker's nationality needs to be UK nationals/citizen.

Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
