How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

As part of our nationwide technical team, you’ll help support our processing facilities across the UK, contributing to a more sustainable future while ensuring the highest industry standards are met.

At SUEZ, we act for what truly matters for the environment, for society, and for the future. This is the place for people who want to make a real impact, not just watch from the side lines. Join us and help drive positive change through innovative solutions that build a more resilient and sustainable world.

    Salary: £49,616

Benefits: up to 10% annual bonus, 3 x life assurance policy, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (and holiday buy back scheme) sick pay and 5% employer pension

Location: Can be based anywhere in the UK but will require national travel 2-3 days per week on sites (2 days WFH)

Hours: 37.5 hours Monday - Friday

    What will you be doing?

This engineering role offers the opportunity to work closely with technical specialists, site management teams and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll provide day-to-day technical support, help solve operational challenges and contribute to projects that improve performance, reliability and sustainability across our sites.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Providing technical support to energy, alternative energy and processing facilities across the UK.

    * Collaborating with technical teams, site leaders and stakeholders to maintain high operational standards.

    * Supporting the resolution of site-based engineering and technical issues.

    * Assisting with project management activities, including equipment upgrades and improvement initiatives.

    * Promoting safe working practices, compliance and continuous improvement.

    What are the requirements?

We’re looking for a Chartered Engineer, or someone working towards chartership, who is passionate about engineering, sustainability and making a positive impact. Whether you're an experienced professional or building on a strong early-career foundation, we’ll support your continued development through learning opportunities, collaboration and real responsibility.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

    * Experience within a process, power, waste management or heavy engineering environment.

    * Knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and management systems.

    * A degree or higher qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

    * An understanding of project management principles and experience supporting engineering projects.

    * Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

    Who we are:

At SUEZ, your career is a journey full of possibilities. With diverse roles across multiple activities and locations, we empower you to shape your own path. Here, you’re encouraged to learn, grow, and take ownership of your development because when you thrive, we all succeed.

At SUEZ, respect is at the heart of everything we do for each other, for our customers, and for the communities we serve. We foster inclusive, caring environments where diversity, wellbeing, safety, and solidarity are more than values they’re everyday realities. These principles shape how we work together, every day. We’re committed to building a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. If you’re excited about this opportunity but don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. Your unique experience, perspective, and potential could be exactly what we’re looking for. We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and growth including competitive pay, pension plans, health and wellbeing programs, learning opportunities, and career development. Everything you need to thrive, both professionally and personally. Join us in transforming today’s environmental challenges into tomorrow’s innovative water and waste solutions.

At SUEZ, your work truly matters driving action and shaping a more resilient, sustainable future
