How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We’re keen to speak with experienced commercial professionals who have a proven track record of selling into the built environment, urban planning and construction sectors. If you understand these markets, know how to navigate them and have an established network, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m currently recruiting for an innovative space technology company that is expanding its commercial team and looking for an experienced Business Development Manager.

The company develops and delivers space-based technology solutions to organisations across a range of industries. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business where you’ll play a key role in identifying new opportunities, developing meaningful customer relationships and helping to expand the company’s presence across new markets.

    The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the built environment, urban planning, construction, infrastructure and utilities sectors.

We’re particularly interested in individuals who already have experience selling into these markets and who understand the challenges organisations face, how they operate and what drives their commercial decision-making.

Your industry knowledge, relationships and network will be key to identifying potential customers, understanding their requirements and introducing innovative space technology solutions that can deliver genuine value.

Working closely with technical and commercial colleagues, you’ll help shape opportunities, develop tailored propositions and manage the sales journey from initial engagement through to contract.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Identify and develop new business opportunities across the built environment, urban planning, construction, infrastructure, utilities and related sectors

    * Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders

    * Leverage your existing industry knowledge and network to identify new customers and opportunities

    * Develop and manage a healthy pipeline of new business

    * Understand customer challenges and identify where space technology can provide meaningful commercial value

    * Develop account and market strategies to support continued growth

    * Work collaboratively with technical teams to develop tailored solutions and compelling proposals

    * Manage the full business development and sales cycle through to contract

    * Lead customer meetings, presentations, tenders and commercial negotiations

    * Represent the company at relevant industry events and help strengthen its presence within target markets

    What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial ability with genuine sector knowledge.

    * Proven experience in business development, sales or strategic account management

    * Demonstrable experience selling into the built environment, urban planning and/or construction sectors

    * A strong understanding of the challenges, structure and commercial landscape within these markets

    * A proven track record of developing new business and winning complex B2B opportunities

    * Experience selling technology, data, engineering, digital or other complex solutions would be advantageous

    * Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

    * Comfortable engaging with senior-level customers and decision-makers

    * Commercially minded, proactive and confident in creating and developing new opportunities

    * Able to understand technical propositions and translate their value into clear commercial benefits for customers

Experience across areas such as construction, urban planning, the built environment, critical infrastructure, utilities, asset management, engineering, geospatial technology or data solutions would be particularly valuable.

This is a great opportunity for someone who already understands the built environment and construction ecosystem and is looking to take that expertise into an innovative, technology-led space
