How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Stores Picker

Like a job that keeps you moving? Pick the parts for the conveyor systems we build, and finish at midday every Friday.

    About MotionTech

MotionTech designs and builds conveyor systems for businesses across the UK. Our stores keep the workshop supplied with every part it needs.

It's a relaxed place to work. Expectations are clear, so you'll always know what a good day's work looks like.

    About the role

We are looking for a Stores Picker to pick parts from the racks and get them where they're needed.

Doing well here means accurate picks, ready on time, so builds never wait for parts.

    What you'll do

    You'll:

Pick parts and components from racking against pick lists

Check part numbers and quantities before each pick goes out

Move picked stock to the workshop using a pallet truck

Put away incoming deliveries in the right locations

Keep the racks tidy, labelled and easy to pick from

Flag low stock or missing parts early

    What you'll bring

    Essential:

Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, picking, packing or goods-in environment

Comfortable working from pick lists, stock records or order sheets

Good attention to detail, particularly when matching part numbers, quantities and descriptions

Confident using a hand pallet truck to move stock safely around the warehouse

Able to lift and move items safely as part of the day-to-day role

Reliable, organised and able to work at a steady pace while maintaining accuracy

A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to get stuck in and support the wider warehouse/stores team

Comfortable working as part of a team but also able to work independently and manage your own workload

     Useful, not essential:

A valid forklift licence - Counterbalance or Reach would be advantageous

Previous experience working with engineering parts, components, machinery or technical products

Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems

Basic computer skills for checking stock, updating records and processing orders

    Working pattern & Salary:

Salary: £28,500 per annum + Enhanced Overtime (1.5x)

Working Pattern: 7am–4pm Monday to Thursday, 7am–12pm Friday.

    Fully on-site.
