How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Head of Bids and Submissions

    Hybrid

Lead Winning Strategies. Drive Growth. Shape the Future.

My client is seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Bids & Submissions to lead their work-winning function and play a pivotal role in the next stage of our growth journey.

This is a strategic leadership position responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, driving bidding excellence, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality submissions across multiple sectors and frameworks.

Working closely with senior leadership, pre-construction, commercial and operational teams, you will build and lead a high-performing bid team, develop winning strategies and ensure Seddon continues to secure profitable, sustainable opportunities across its target markets.

    The Role

As Head of Bids & Submissions, you will take ownership of the company's bid strategy, submissions process and work-winning activities.

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, managing bid resources, developing compelling content and driving continuous improvement across the entire bid function.

This role requires a commercially minded leader who can bring together cross-functional teams to produce market-leading submissions that differentiate Seddon from its competitors.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and develop the Bid & Submissions team.

    * Take ownership of the company's work-winning strategy.

    * Manage the delivery of PQQs, SQs, ITTs, Framework Submissions and Tender Responses.

    * Drive bid planning, bid governance and bid reviews.

    * Work closely with operational, commercial and technical teams to develop winning solutions.

    * Ensure submissions are compelling, fully compliant and commercially robust.

    * Coordinate contributions from key stakeholders across the business.

    * Manage bid resources and priorities across multiple live opportunities.

    * Develop and maintain a library of high-quality bid content and case studies.

    * Monitor bid performance, win rates and lessons learned.

    * Lead client presentations, interviews and submission workshops where required.

    * Identify opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement and competitive advantage.

    * Produce regular reports for senior leadership on pipeline, performance and success rates.

    About You

You will be an experienced bid leader with a proven track record of securing major contracts and frameworks within the construction, property, infrastructure or built environment sectors.

    You will have:

    * Extensive experience leading successful bid and submissions teams.

    * A strong track record of winning competitive tenders.

    * Exceptional written communication and presentation skills.

    * Experience managing complex, multi-million-pound opportunities.

    * Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability.

    * Excellent commercial awareness.

    * The ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.

    * A passion for quality, continuous improvement and delivering results.

    Why Join My client?

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected, values-led business with a strong reputation, loyal client base and ambitious growth plans.

You will have the autonomy to shape the bid function, influence business strategy and make a significant impact on the future success of the organisation.

If you're a proven work-winning leader looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you
