How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Employment Advisor – Connect to Work (WHP / IPS / Restart)

    Salary: £29,000 – £30,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham, with outreach across Hodge Hill, Sutton Coldfield, Yardley and surrounding areas

Experienced in Caseload Management? Help People Move into Sustainable Work

Have you worked on the Work and Health Programme (WHP), Individual Placement and Support (IPS) or Restart Scheme? Are you confident managing a caseload, supporting individuals with complex barriers and helping participants progress into sustainable employment?

This is an opportunity to bring your frontline employment support experience to Connect to Work, helping young adults access personalised guidance and achieve positive employment outcomes.

    About the Organisation

The organisation delivers employment support designed to help people overcome barriers to work, improve their employability and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

Through the government-funded Connect to Work programme, it supports economically inactive and unemployed people aged 18-25 across targeted areas of East Birmingham.

    About the Role

As an Employment Advisor, you will manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored employment support from initial engagement through to job entry and in-work support.

Drawing on your experience of WHP, IPS, Restart or similar employability programmes, you will help participants address barriers, develop practical job-search skills and work towards sustainable employment.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Managing a caseload and developing individual action plans based on participants’ needs and employment goals.

    * Identifying barriers to work and providing tailored, person-centred employment support.

    * Supporting participants with CVs, applications, interview preparation and job-search activity.

    * Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate participant records in line with programme requirements.

    * Supporting job entry and providing in-work support to improve employment retention.

    * Working with employers, referral partners and other stakeholders to create opportunities.

    * Working towards programme objectives and maintaining a focus on positive employment outcomes.

    Ideal Candidate

You will have direct experience delivering employment support and managing a participant caseload, ideally through WHP, IPS, the Restart Scheme or another government-funded employability programme.

    You will also have:

    * Experience supporting people with barriers to employment.

    * The ability to develop individual action plans and maintain regular participant engagement.

    * Strong knowledge of job-search support, employment preparation and progression into work.

    * Experience monitoring caseload activity, maintaining accurate records and meeting performance requirements.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate individuals with different needs.

    * A commitment to achieving sustainable employment outcomes and providing effective in-work support.

Experience supporting young adults or delivering personalised employment interventions would be advantageous.

    Why Apply?

    * Salary: £29,000–£30,000 per annum.

    * Relevant experience: Build on your existing employment support and caseload management skills.

    * Meaningful impact: Help young adults overcome barriers and move into sustainable work.

    * Varied role: Combine one-to-one support, job-search guidance and employer engagement.

    * Career development: Apply your experience within another government-funded employment programme.

    Apply Now

If you have experience in WHP, IPS, Restart or similar employment support programmes and are ready for your next opportunity, we want to hear from you.
