How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: Long-term opportunity
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours
    Start Date: Immediate

    About the role

TLTP Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with high-functioning autism within a school in Tower Hamlets.

This is a 1:1 position working closely with a pupil who requires a patient, proactive and adaptable individual to support their learning, communication and day-to-day school experience. The successful candidate will need to understand the importance of building trust, maintaining consistency and adapting their approach to suit the child's individual needs.

The child is non-verbal and requires support using PECS and Makaton, alongside assistance with personal care. We are looking for someone who can remain calm and encouraging, take initiative when support is needed and help the child engage positively with classroom activities and daily routines.

    Key responsibilities

Providing dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the child's individual needs.

Using PECS, Makaton and visual communication strategies to encourage interaction and help the child express their needs.

Supporting personal care and daily routines with sensitivity and respect.

Helping the child access learning activities and participate in the classroom.

Promoting independence, confidence and positive social interaction.

Recognising when the child needs additional reassurance and adapting support accordingly.

Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SEN team to ensure a consistent approach.

    The ideal candidate

Previous experience supporting children with autism in a primary or specialist setting.

Confident using PECS and Makaton to support non-verbal communication.

    Comfortable providing personal care.

Patient, proactive and observant, with the ability to anticipate the child's needs and respond appropriately.

Able to remain calm and consistent while encouraging engagement and independence.

Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their potential.

    What we offer

A long-term opportunity within a school in Tower Hamlets.

The opportunity to build a positive, consistent relationship with a pupil.

    Valuable experience within SEN education.

A rewarding role where your support can make a genuine difference to a child's development.

If you have relevant SEN experience and are looking for your next opportunity, we'd love to hear from you. Contact TLTP Education to find out more.
