How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to join a major data centre construction project in the UK.

This is a senior site-based leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of mechanical and electrical works, managing engineering and construction teams, and ensuring that all MEP activities are coordinated and delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, discipline leads and specialist subcontractors to drive programme performance, resolve technical issues and coordinate installation through to commissioning.

This opportunity would suit an experienced MEP professional with a strong background in large-scale construction projects, excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage complex mechanical and electrical packages within a demanding project environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead and manage Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Construction Managers and wider MEP delivery teams.

    * Oversee MEP coordination, installation sequencing and programme delivery across the project.

    * Coordinate closely with the Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, design teams and other discipline leads to ensure efficient project execution.

    * Manage specialist subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams, monitoring progress, productivity and performance.

    * Ensure mechanical and electrical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, project standards and quality requirements.

    * Monitor workmanship, materials and installation methods to maintain high standards of quality and safety.

    * Review technical drawings and specifications, identifying design clashes, discrepancies and potential installation issues.

    * Work with design teams and project stakeholders to resolve technical queries and coordinate design changes.

    * Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, construction methodology, programme performance and installation quality.

    * Monitor progress against project milestones and proactively address delays, constraints and coordination issues.

    * Support the planning, installation, testing and commissioning of MEP systems through to project completion and handover.

    * Ensure compliance with project procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant technical standards.

    * Provide regular progress updates and report key issues, risks and performance matters to senior project management.

    Essential Requirements

    * Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.

    * At least 10 years of experience within MEP construction and project delivery.

    * Proven experience leading MEP teams on large-scale construction projects.

    * Strong experience managing both mechanical and electrical packages, including installation coordination and programme delivery.

    * Demonstrable leadership experience managing engineers, construction personnel and specialist subcontractors.

    * Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, construction methodologies, installation sequencing and commissioning processes.

    * Experience reviewing technical drawings, identifying design issues and coordinating solutions across multiple disciplines.

    * Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.

    * Ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based construction environment and drive delivery against demanding project deadlines.

    Desirable Experience

    * Previous experience delivering data centre, hyperscale or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.

    * Experience coordinating complex MEP installations within high-value, technically demanding construction environments.

    * Familiarity with commissioning requirements, system integration, quality assurance and project handover.

    * Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors and specialist MEP subcontractors
