How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join a highly established and respected building services contractor, taking responsibility for the preparation and management of electrical tenders across major projects in London.

Our client has a strong reputation for delivering complex M&E projects across multiple sectors and offers the opportunity to work on significant, high-value schemes within an experienced and well-resourced pre-construction function.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing tender strategies, managing complex electrical estimates and helping secure new work, while working alongside experienced commercial, design and project professionals.

    About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator with a strong background in M&E contracting. The successful candidate will take ownership of significant electrical tenders, manage relationships with the supply chain and provide technical and commercial input throughout the pre-construction process.

This is an opportunity for an experienced estimator to take a senior position within a business offering long-term stability, a strong project pipeline and exposure to some of the UK's most technically demanding construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Estimator

Lead the preparation of detailed electrical estimates and tenders.

Take ownership of multiple tenders simultaneously.

Review drawings, specifications, schedules and employer's requirements.

Develop detailed cost plans, take-offs and tender build-ups.

Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and commercial opportunities.

Manage the tender process with specialist subcontractors and suppliers.

Review, analyse and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Attend and lead tender clarification and subcontractor interviews.

Work closely with design teams to assess buildability and value engineering opportunities.

Provide commercial and technical input into tender strategies.

Present estimates and tender proposals to senior management and project stakeholders.

Support successful project handovers from pre-construction into delivery.

Mentor and support junior estimators within the team.

    Requirements

Strong experience as an Electrical Estimator within an M&E contractor or specialist subcontractor.

Experience managing large and technically complex electrical tenders.

Strong understanding of electrical building services and installation methodologies.

Excellent knowledge of estimating, procurement and subcontractor engagement.

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risks and opportunities.

Confident negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.

Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.

    What Our Client Offers

Senior position within a well-established and highly regarded building services business.

Exposure to major, technically complex and high-value projects.

Opportunity to work across a diverse range of sectors.

Strong forward workload providing long-term career stability.

Experienced senior leadership and pre-construction teams.

Opportunity to influence tender strategy and play a key role in securing new projects.

Clear opportunities for career progression and professional development.

    Comprehensive training and development support.

Competitive salary and attractive benefits package.
