How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Dual Registered Manager – Experienced Leadership Across Two Children's Homes

    Location: OX11, Oxfordshire (Didcot area)

    Salary: £84,000 per annum

Service: Two 3-bed children's residential homes, initially operating as solo placements

    Introduction:

If you're an experienced Children's Residential Registered Manager, you'll understand the difference between being accountable for a service and feeling that every responsibility rests on your shoulders.

We're recruiting a Dual Registered Manager to oversee two children's residential homes in the OX11 area of Oxfordshire.

Both provisions are registered for three young people and will initially operate as solo placements, creating an opportunity to establish consistent care approaches and strong leadership across both settings.

With a salary of £84,000, this opportunity is aimed at an established Registered Manager who has the experience, judgement and confidence to oversee complex services while maintaining a clear focus on young people's needs and staff development.

    About the Role:

As Dual Registered Manager, you'll provide leadership and regulatory oversight across both children's homes, helping to establish consistency in care, safeguarding and team practice.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Providing registered management oversight across two 3-bed children's homes

    • Supporting the delivery of safe, consistent and child-centred care

    • Leading and developing larger staff teams across both provisions

    • Overseeing safeguarding, care planning, risk management and quality assurance

    • Supporting staff to respond effectively to young people with complex and challenging needs

    • Maintaining appropriate standards in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Quality Standards

    • Working with the provider and wider professionals to support positive outcomes

    • Establishing clear communication, delegation and accountability across both settings

    What Makes This Opportunity Different:

Managing two children's homes requires more than experience. It requires a clear understanding of how to maintain quality, develop teams and establish consistent practice across separate services.

With both homes initially operating as solo placements, the role offers an opportunity to take a considered approach to individual care needs and service development.

The emphasis is on building effective leadership across both settings, rather than relying on one person to manage every operational detail.

For an experienced Registered Manager, this could be a meaningful next step into broader operational leadership.

    About You:

We're looking for an established leader with a strong background in children's residential care.

    Essential Requirements:

    • Current or previous experience as a Children's Residential Registered Manager

    • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent

    • Experience managing complex or challenging children's residential services

    • Proven ability to lead, supervise and develop larger staff teams

    • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and quality standards

    • Experience maintaining high standards of care while managing operational responsibilities

    • Confidence in delegating effectively and developing capable teams

    Personal Qualities:

    • Calm, consistent and reflective leadership style

    • Strong professional judgement

    • Child-focused and values-led approach

    • Ability to support staff through complex situations

    • Understanding of the importance of clear boundaries and sustainable leadership

Experience managing multiple services would be advantageous, although applications are welcome from established Registered Managers with the experience and capacity to take this next step.

    Why Join?

    • £84,000 annual salary

    • Leadership responsibility across two 3-bed children's homes

    • Both provisions initially operating as solo placements

    • Opportunity to develop consistent practice across two services

    • A broader leadership role for an experienced residential childcare professional

    • Opportunity to influence team development, service quality and long-term stability

    How to Apply:

If you're an experienced Registered Manager considering a move into dual registration, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.

We understand that taking responsibility for two services is a significant decision, and you'll want to understand the management arrangements, expectations and support available before progressing.
