How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced lightning protection specialist looking to make a real impact on the future of the industry? Do you want to share your expertise and help shape the next generation of lightning protection professionals?

    CITB is looking for a Lecturer in Lightning Protection to join our dedicated training team at Bircham Newton.

    * Produce surveys, condition reports, and compliance documentation (BS EN 62305)

    * Work safely at height on roofs, towers, scaffolds, and MEWPs

    * Liaise with clients, provide technical advice, and ensure safe site conduct

    Essential Qualifications

    * Level 2 vocational qualification supplemented by specific Lightning Protection industry training (e.g Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation (Building and Structures) or Level 2 Award/Certificate in Electrical or Specialist Earthing Systems, where content includes LPS earthing principles

    * Minimum Level 2 S/NVQ Qualification (e.g S/NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 – Lightning Conductor Engineer or S/NVQ Level 3 – Lightning Protective Systems Inspecting & Testing

    * Hold a Level 2 qualification or higher in English and maths or demonstrate proficiency at Level 2 or above through a recognised assessment in both subjects

    * Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve within 2 years)

    * Assessor Awards (or willingness to achieve within 1 year)

    Essential Skills and Experience
