How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy in Manchester is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team and work across a range of public-sector projects. The Project Manager will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of live schemes, working closely with clients, consultants and contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who enjoys a delivery-focused role and wants to build their experience across complex public-sector projects.

The successful Project Manager will take responsibility for managing projects through key delivery stages while working alongside experienced senior colleagues. The Project Manager will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage programme and risk, and provide regular updates to clients. For an ambitious Project Manager, this role offers the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility and develop towards Senior Project Manager level.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will support and lead the delivery of public-sector projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Responsibilities will include managing project programmes, coordinating design and consultant teams, attending client and site meetings, monitoring progress, managing risk and ensuring projects remain aligned with programme, quality and client expectations.

The role will suit a Project Manager who is organised, proactive and confident operating in a delivery-led environment.

    The Project Manager

    The successful candidate will have:

Project Management experience within a construction consultancy

Experience working on public-sector, education, healthcare, civic or similar projects

A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline

Strong understanding of project delivery and the full project lifecycle

    Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams

    Strong client-facing and communication skills

Good knowledge of programme, risk and project reporting

MRICS, MAPM, ChPP or progress towards a relevant professional qualification would be advantageous

    In Return?

    £48,000 - £55,000

    Strong exposure to public-sector projects

Delivery-focused role with real project responsibility

Clear progression towards Senior Project Manager level

Opportunity to work across varied and complex schemes

    Supportive and experienced consultancy team
