How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

Global Highland are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and people-focused Restaurant Manager to join our client and their team in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality manager who enjoys bringing out the best in others, leading a loyal team and delivering memorable experiences for guests.

We’re looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in their work and understands that a successful restaurant starts with a happy, motivated team.

    Key Responsibilities

As Restaurant Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of service and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the business.

You’ll play a key role in supporting, motivating and developing the team, creating an environment where people feel valued, confident and encouraged to grow. From managing busy services to planning ahead and maintaining excellent standards, you’ll bring organisation, energy and a hands-on approach to everything you do.

    * Daily Operations: Oversee the smooth running of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, food quality and cleanliness.

    * Team Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate and manage front-of-house staff, creating a positive and professional working environment.

    * Customer Experience: Ensure excellent customer service, handle guest feedback and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.

    * Staff Scheduling: Prepare rotas, manage staffing levels and ensure adequate cover during busy periods.

    * Financial Management: Monitor sales, labour costs, budgets and operating expenses to achieve financial targets.

    * Stock Control: Manage stock levels, ordering, deliveries and inventory, minimising waste and controlling costs.

    * Food Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, licensing and other relevant regulations.

    * Standards and Procedures: Maintain consistent service standards and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.

    * Business Performance: Drive sales, maximise profitability and identify opportunities to improve restaurant performance.

    * Communication: Work closely with the kitchen team, senior management and suppliers to ensure efficient operations.

    * Problem-Solving: Handle operational challenges effectively and maintain a calm, professional approach under pressure.

    * Continuous Improvement: Monitor customer satisfaction, team performance and service quality, implementing improvements where necessary

    Requirements

    * Hospitality management experience is essential. You’ll have a solid understanding of restaurant operations and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

    * A passion for developing people. You enjoy coaching, mentoring and helping team members reach their full potential.

    * Strong leadership skills. You can inspire, support and lead a loyal team, building trust and encouraging a shared sense of purpose.

    * Excellent time management. You’re organised, efficient and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    * A hands-on attitude. You lead from the front, set high standards and are happy to get involved wherever needed.

    * A passion for people and sport. You enjoy working with others and appreciate the active lifestyle and opportunities that come with living and working in the Highlands.

    * A positive, proactive mindset. You’re adaptable, approachable and committed to making the restaurant a great place for both guests and colleagues.

    What's on Offer

    * A permanent position with a salary starting at £32,000 per annum.

    * A 37.5-hour working week.

    * The opportunity to lead and develop an established, loyal team.

    * A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to people and the guest experience.

    * Accommodation available if required, for an additional weekly fee.

    * The chance to live and work in the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, with fantastic opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and pursue your sporting interests.

    About You

Are you passionate about hospitality, developing people and creating a positive team culture?

Do you love sport, the outdoors and the idea of working in one of Scotland’s most spectacular locations?

If you’re an experienced hospitality manager who believes in putting people first, enjoys building strong teams and wants to combine a rewarding career with an active Highland lifestyle, we’d love to hear from you.
