How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Base salary up to £55K + Healthcare, Company Pension, Life Assurance & Benefits

    Are you an experienced Project Manager or Project Engineer with a background in machinery, capital equipment or complex engineered systems?

    This is an opportunity to join an established engineering business delivering projects ranging from approximately £100,000 to £10 million, from individual pieces of equipment through to fully integrated production lines.

    You could be managing up to five projects at different stages of the lifecycle, with typical project timescales ranging from 4 to 12 months.

    THE ROLE

    As Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from order handover through to final completion.

    You’ll establish the project programme, agree realistic timescales and milestones, and coordinate the internal and external teams responsible for delivering each stage.

    Projects can involve a combination of:

    * Internal engineering and design teams

    * Subcontract manufacturers

    * Third-party equipment suppliers

    * Procurement and commercial teams

    * Installation and commissioning teams

    * Customers and other project stakeholders

    You won’t have direct line-management responsibility for all the people involved, so your ability to influence, coordinate and gain buy-in will be key.

    At any one time, one project could be progressing through design, another with a subcontract manufacturer and another approaching installation or commissioning.

    Your role will be to maintain the bigger picture, understand what needs to happen next and ensure each project remains on programme, within budget and aligned with the customer’s requirements.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Manage multiple capital equipment projects valued from approximately £100K to £10M

    * Take ownership from order handover through to completion

    * Develop project programmes, timescales, milestones and priorities

    * Coordinate engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors and other project stakeholders

    * Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the project

    * Monitor progress, costs, risks and changing requirements

    * Identify potential delays or issues early and drive actions to resolve them

    * Ensure technical, commercial and delivery requirements remain aligned

    * Support improvements to project delivery processes and ways of working

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    We’re looking for someone with project delivery experience gained within capital equipment, machinery, automation, process equipment or another complex engineering environment.

    You may already be working as a Project Manager; Project Engineer; Contracts Engineer; Contracts Manager

    For an experienced Project Engineer, this could be an excellent next step if you are already coordinating engineering projects, managing suppliers and customers, controlling timescales and taking increasing ownership for project delivery.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * Strong project management or project engineering experience

    * Experience delivering machinery, capital equipment or complex engineered systems

    * Experience managing several projects or workstreams concurrently

    * The ability to create and manage project programmes, milestones and priorities

    * Strong coordination and influencing skills

    * The confidence to challenge constructively and keep projects moving

    * The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Strong customer and stakeholder management skills

    * Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs

    * A proactive and practical approach to problem solving

    Most importantly, you’ll be able to see how all the different elements of a project fit together, establish what needs to happen next and bring the right people together to keep delivery moving.

    TRAVEL

    Occasional travel will be required, typically equating to approximately 3–5 weeks over a six-month period.

    * £45,000–£55,000 basic salary, depending on experience
