I am currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive Legionella Risk & Hygiene Manager to oversee the water safety management and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programs across the business
As the Legionella Risk & Hygiene Manager, you will be the competent person responsible for ensuring full compliance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and statutory water hygiene regulations.
You will design, implement, and audit comprehensive PPM schedules to mitigate risks, protect public health, and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* PPM Management: Oversee, schedule, and execute all water hygiene Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, including temperature monitoring, flushing regimes, descaling, and sampling.
* Risk Assessments: Conduct and review comprehensive Legionella risk assessments across all site facilities.
* Compliance & Logbooks: Maintain flawless, audit-ready compliance logbooks, ensuring all physical and digital records are accurate and up to date.
* Remedial Actions: Identify system defects and manage the delivery of necessary remedial works (e.g., dead-leg removals, tank cleans, and disinfections).
* Contractor Management: Supervise external water treatment specialists and contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
* Training & Advice: Act as the internal subject matter expert, providing guidance to site teams and delivering tool-box talks on water hygiene best practices.
Requirements
* Qualifications: City & Guilds, BOHS (e.g., P901, P902), or equivalent certification in Legionella Risk Assessment and Water Hygiene.
* Experience: Proven track record managing Legionella compliance and PPM programs within a commercial, industrial, or healthcare environment.
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of ACoP L8, HSG274, and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
* Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complex maintenance schedules and analyse technical data.
* Driver's License: A valid driving license may be required depending on portfolio distribution.
