How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Opportunity for a Senior Hardware / Senior Electronic Engineer to work as part of a skilled team supporting next generation New Product Development projects

    If you’re a Senior Electronics Engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, getting hands-on with hardware and taking technical ownership of projects, this role offers great scope and technical variety.  Typically, you will manage a number of concurrent NPD project at varying stages of maturity and have full ownership of the projects from initial customer project through to delivery.

    Joining a constantly innovating engineering and manufacturing business, you’ll play a key role in developing sophisticated electronic hardware for high-reliability applications. You’ll take designs from initial customer requirements and concept development through schematic capture, PCB development, prototyping, verification, qualification and manufacture.

    It’s a role offering broad technical scope across digital , analogue, mixed-signal and power electronics, alongside the opportunity to lead design reviews, solve challenging technical issues and provide guidance to other engineers.

    As Senior Electronic Design Engineer you will:

    Work closely with electronics, mechanical, test, manufacturing and commercial teams, you will take a lead role in electronic hardware development across the complete product lifecycle.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Design and development of analogue, digital, mixed-signal and power electronics
    Translating customer and system requirements into robust, practical electronic designs
    Schematic capture, PCB development and preparation of Bills of Materials using Altium
    Component selection, circuit simulation, engineering calculations and tolerance analysis
    Leading design reviews and verification & validation activities
    Development and testing of prototype circuits, cable assemblies, test equipment and production fixtures
    Hands-on electronic testing, debugging, fault-finding and root-cause analysis
    Supporting EMC and environmental qualification testing, resolving technical issues identified during testing
    Providing technical estimates for new projects, including cost, timescales, scope and potential technical risks
    Supporting PCB manufacture, prototype builds and introduction into production
    Managing component availability, lifecycle and obsolescence
    Supporting ongoing product and design improvements
    Working across multiple concurrent engineering projects
    Providing technical guidance and support to other engineersWe are looking for an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer / Electronics Design Engineer with a strong practical hardware design background who is comfortable taking ownership of projects whilst remaining hands-on technically.

    Ideally, you will have:

    Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent experience within Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
    Professional experience within electronic hardware design, ideally gained at Senior Engineer level
    Proven experience of analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuit design
    Experience of schematic capture and PCB development using Altium or similar
    Practical knowledge of PCB layout and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
    Hands-on experience of prototype development, assembly and electronic test equipment
    Strong debugging, fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills
    Good understanding of EMC-conscious electronic and PCB design
    Experience of design verification and validation
