How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you passionate about supporting older people to live independently in their own homes? Age UK Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has an exciting Area Coordinator opportunity for the Living Well at Home Service!

    Location: Meadows, Nottinghamshire, NG2 2JD

    Salary: £14,019.51 per annum

    Job Type: Permanent

    Hours: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day Monday to Friday

    Area Coordinator - The Role:

    You will be the first point of contact for new clients, playing a vital role in communicating with and assessing people who want to live independently and confidently in their own homes. You will create personalised support plans based on individual needs assessments. You will support and supervise a small team of locally based Living Well Assistants who provide day-to-day support to clients. You will act as an important link between the office-based team and community-based assistants supporting older people across the Greater Nottingham area.

    Area Coordinator - Key Responsibilities:

    - Assess clients to understand their needs and create tailored support plans

    - Communicate effectively with clients, families and the wider team

    - Supervise and support a team of Living Well Assistants

    - Maintain strong organisational systems and IT records

    - Coordinate service delivery across the local community

    Area Coordinator - You:

    - Excellent communication and organisational skills

    - Strong IT competency for recording and managing client information

    - Understanding of person-centred support for older and vulnerable people

    - Experience supervising staff, preferably in domiciliary care, home support, social care, health care or community services
