How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you an experienced B2B sales professional with a background in manufacturing technology, software or engineering solutions?

Are you motivated by the opportunity to work with manufacturing businesses, understand their operational challenges and help them improve productivity, efficiency and profitability?
If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a growing technology business with ambitious plans for the future.

    The Opportunity

Our client is an established and growing provider of manufacturing software solutions, helping manufacturers improve operational performance through better data, visibility and decision-making.

As the business continues to develop its SaaS offering and expand its market presence, they are looking for an experienced Business Development Executive to play a key role in driving growth.

This is a varied commercial position combining existing account development with new business generation.

Approximately 70% of your focus will be on developing existing customers, identifying opportunities for additional software modules, services and SaaS subscriptions, with the remaining 30% focused on identifying and winning new customers.

You will work with manufacturing businesses across the UK and internationally, engaging with stakeholders from operational and shop-floor level through to senior management and board level.

    Key Responsibilities

Develop and grow existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities for additional products, services and SaaS solutions.
Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, campaigns and market research.
Manage a healthy sales pipeline and consistently work towards revenue targets.
Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer challenges, objectives and requirements.
Present and demonstrate software solutions both remotely and face-to-face.
Develop compelling commercial proposals and ROI/business cases.
Manage opportunities through the complete sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract.
Lead negotiations and manage complex stakeholder and decision-making processes.
Attend exhibitions, conferences, industry events and customer meetings.
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline information.
Work closely with Marketing, Customer Success, Professional Services and Product teams.
Keep up to date with manufacturing trends, technology and competitor activity.
Make effective use of modern sales technology, including AI-enabled tools, to improve productivity and sales performance. About You

We are looking for an experienced commercial sales professional who understands how to sell solutions rather than simply products.

    You will ideally have:

7-10+ years' experience in B2B manufacturing technology, software or solutions sales.
A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
    Strong consultative and solution-selling experience.
Experience managing both new business and existing customer accounts.
Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
Experience working with CRM systems and managing a structured sales pipeline.
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
The confidence to engage with stakeholders from shop-floor level through to board level.
A genuine understanding of the challenges faced by modern manufacturing businesses.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Experience selling ERP, MES, MRP, production planning, scheduling, manufacturing intelligence, shop-floor data collection, BI, Industry 4.0 or similar solutions would be highly advantageous.

Experience within precision engineering, machining, fabrication or industrial manufacturing would also be beneficial.

    Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing technology business at an exciting stage of its development.

You will have the opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact, develop existing customer relationships, win new business and help manufacturing companies use technology to improve the way they operate.

If you are an experienced manufacturing technology sales professional looking for a role where you can have a direct influence on growth, we would like to hear from you.
