How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
    Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
    Salary: £31,493 to £34,495 ( Inclusive of sleep-ins)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated individual to join a well-rated children’s residential service in Witney as a Children's Residential Support Worker. You will support young people aged 8 to 18 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role offers a rewarding chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, appropriate to their age.

    * Maintain a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting.

    * Deal with challenging behaviours safely and effectively.

    * Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.

    * Support young people in promoting their independence and overall well-being.

    * Ensure a safe environment by adhering to care plans, guidelines, and reward systems.

    * Support young people through challenging behaviours with empathy and safety.

    * Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's care.

    Requirements:

    * Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.

    * Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous.

    * Must hold a full UK manual driver’s licence, as transportation of young people is required.

    * Must be over the age of 21.

    * Ability to commute to Witney
