How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Building Surveyor – Stock Condition Surveys / DEA

    Location: North West London – Brent Borough (Wembley, Harlesden, Willesden, Kilburn, Neasden, Stonebridge and Queen's Park)

    We are currently recruiting experienced Building Surveyors / Stock Condition Surveyors to undertake a large-scale programme of residential property surveys across North West London, predominantly within the London Borough of Brent.

    The contract involves surveying over 3,000 residential properties, completing detailed Stock Condition Surveys and Domestic Energy Assessments (DEA) across occupied properties on behalf of a Local Authority.

    The project will cover various locations throughout Brent, including Wembley, Harlesden, Willesden, Kilburn, Neasden, Stonebridge and Queen's Park, as well as surrounding areas.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    *

    Undertaking detailed Stock Condition Surveys across a programme of over 3,000 residential properties.

    *

    Completing Domestic Energy Assessments (DEA) using RdSAP 10.2, collecting sufficient evidence to support potential future lodgement.

    *

    Assessing the condition and remaining life expectancy of key building components.

    *

    Inspecting elements including roofs, windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms, heating systems, external walls and other internal/external components.

    *

    Identifying defects, deterioration and required repair or replacement works.

    *

    Recording component condition, age and anticipated renewal requirements.

    *

    Collecting accurate property and asset data using handheld/tablet-based surveying systems.

    *

    Ensuring surveys, photographs and supporting information are completed accurately and consistently.

    *

    Working efficiently across a programme of occupied Local Authority residential properties.

    *

    Liaising professionally with residents when accessing occupied homes.

    *

    Meeting agreed daily/weekly survey targets while maintaining a high standard of data quality.

    Requirements

    Candidates should have previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys within residential or social housing properties.

    You will ideally have:

    *

    Previous Stock Condition Surveying experience.

    *

    A recognised DEA qualification/accreditation.

    *

    A current DBS

    *

    Experience completing domestic energy assessments and collecting RdSAP 10.2 data.

    *

    Good knowledge of residential building construction and common building defects.

    *

    Experience assessing component condition and lifecycle/replacement requirements.

    *

    Ability to accurately record survey information electronically.

    *

    Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

    *

    Excellent communication skills when dealing with residents and clients.

    *

    Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

    Desirable

    *

    Building Surveying or construction-related qualification.

    *

    Previous Housing Association / Local Authority surveying experience.

    *

    Experience working on large-scale housing stock condition programmes.
