We are looking for a Service Engineer for a permanent position based with our client in the Derbyshire area.
Immediate start available (subject to interview process)
Salary is £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
This will be working 37.5 hours a week flexible start/finish time (customer & location dependent)
Role Overview:
Mainly working with industrial vacuum lifters and automation systems, the Site Service Engineer must have exceptional mechanical engineering knowledge and experience. An ability to understand and problem-solve, work their way around an unknown issue, and always leave equipment safe and compliant is key. Experience with pneumatic systems an advantage.
This role includes overnight stays (primarily UK-based), with potential for overseas assignments as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planned service on vacuum lifting systems and automation equipment across all industries
Planned service on processing machinery and handling systems
Planned installations of equipment on-site (UK and Overseas)
Breakdown service on all the above
Upgrade installations and system move plus subsequent maintenance
Training of operators
Working overseas as necessary - representing the company on-site is very important
Management of van stock parts
Accurate, professional, and informative completion of written site reports including clear and correct parts and future works requirements
Providing feedback from site to client on problem issues for design and manufacture
Supporting each other when on-site to provide input of experience
Assistance with offloading and loading of goods as required
Technical support to production and assembly teams as required
Completion of timesheets to be submitted weekly, no later than close of play on the following Monday
Completion of expense claims
Completion of mileage reports to be submitted monthly on payroll cut-off date
Completion of ladder log to be submitted within 3 working days of the last working day of the month
Completion of vehicle checklist to be submitted with timesheet
Management of tools in the van and on-site
Driving to site safely and planning trips efficiently in adherence to Government driving/work times and the Driving Policy
Management of van service/repair schedules
Commissioning of equipment on-site (UK and Overseas)Qualifications/Certifications:
Forklift Truck certificate
National Safety Passport
IPAF
PASMA
LOLER training
Fire Extinguisher training
Minimum NVQ level 3 or time-served equivalent
Ability to read engineering drawings/pneumatic drawings
