How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

If you take pride in producing something properly, enjoy practical hands-on work and like seeing a finished product come together from start to finish, this could be a very good fit.

Crem Recruitment is working with an established bespoke furniture manufacturer in Haverhill that produces high-quality furniture for commercial environments, including automotive showrooms.

We are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner to join their production team and help manufacture bespoke furniture to a consistently high standard.

This is a workshop-based role where you’ll take CNC-machined components and assemble them into finished pieces of furniture using hand and power tools.

The work is varied, detailed and quality-focused. You won’t simply be producing the same item repeatedly. You’ll be working across bespoke projects where accuracy, finish and attention to detail really matter.

    The role

As a Bench Joiner, you’ll be responsible for assembling bespoke furniture from technical drawings and plans, making sure every finished piece is accurate, well-built and ready for installation.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Assembling bespoke furniture from CNC-machined components

    *

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans

    *

Using hand and power tools to complete furniture assemblies

    *

Producing accurate, high-quality work to agreed deadlines

    *

Checking work throughout the manufacturing process

    *

Inspecting finished furniture for defects before installation

    *

Identifying and resolving practical assembly issues

    *

Working independently while supporting the wider production team

    *

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail

    *

Contributing to continuous improvement within the workshop

    What are we looking for?

You’ll need previous experience within joinery or furniture bench assembly and be comfortable working from drawings and plans.

You could currently be working as a Bench Joiner, Cabinet Maker, Furniture Maker, Furniture Assembler or in a similar furniture manufacturing environment.

We’re looking for someone who has:

    *

Previous joinery or furniture bench assembly experience

    *

The ability to accurately read and follow drawings and plans

    *

Experience using hand and power tools

    *

    Strong attention to detail

    *

    Good practical problem-solving skills

    *

Pride in producing high-quality finished work

    *

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

    *

    A proactive and reliable approach

    *

A willingness to contribute to a positive workshop environment

The role is physically active, so you’ll also need to be comfortable lifting and handling furniture components as part of your day-to-day work.

    What’s on offer?

    *

    Salary of £28,000 to £33,000

    *

    Permanent, full-time position

    *

    40-hour working week

    *

    Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm

    *

    Regular overtime opportunities

    *

    28 days' holiday

    *

An additional 2 days' holiday accrued through long service

    *

    Free onsite parking

    *

    Free refreshments

    *

    Varied bespoke furniture projects

    *

The opportunity to join an established manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality

If you’re an experienced Bench Joiner who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes real pride in the quality of what you produce, we’d like to hear from you.
