How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Service Engineer

    Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 per annum

    Woking, Surrey

    ReeVR Talent are looking for an experienced Service Engineer with strong electromechanical and fault-finding skills to join our clients technical team.

    This is a hands-on role combining testing, repair, fault diagnosis, RMA management and customer support, with the opportunity to be customer-facing involving travel to customer sites.

    The key responsibilities for the Service Engineer

    Test, fault find and repair customer equipment in line with internal procedures and specifications.

    Carry out RMA testing, repair and diagnosis, including fault finding down to component level.

    Complete system set-ups, installations and servicing of equipment.

    Rebuild of product in accordance with company procedures.

    Liaise with Materials and Production teams to obtain parts required for repairs.

    Manage RMA activity, including RMA administration, scheduling and prioritisation.

    Raise RMA numbers and provide customers with relevant repair information.

    Inspect completed work and ensure all paperwork and technical documentation is accurate and complete.

    Provide technical support to customers and liaise with them regarding service and repair requirements.

    Maintain, repair and assist with the development of existing and new test equipment.

    Produce technical reports and monthly RMA activity reports.

    Support the maintenance of ISO 9001 standards and procedures.

    Willingness to travel to customer sites as the role develops.

    About You the Service Engineer:

    Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Service Technician or similar.

    Strong hands-on electro/mechanical skills.

    Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.

    Experience testing, repairing, servicing or installing technical equipment.

    Customer-facing experience with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally.

    Experience with RMA testing, administration and scheduling would be highly beneficial.

    Comfortable working from technical documentation and procedures.

    Methodical approach with strong attention to detail.

    Able to work independently and manage multiple service and repair requirements.

    Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
