How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Associate Flood Risk Consultant

    Leeds

    Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

    An established environmental consultancy is looking for an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join its team in Leeds.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional to take on a senior role, lead projects and help develop client relationships, while supporting the growth of the wider team.

    The Role

    You will work across a varied portfolio of flood risk and drainage projects, supporting clients through planning and development. Responsibilities will include:

    Managing and delivering Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
    Overseeing surface water modelling, flood risk modelling and drainage design.
    Providing technical advice on flood risk, SuDS and planning requirements.
    Managing project budgets, programmes and client relationships.
    Liaising with the Environment Agency, local authorities, developers and other stakeholders.
    Reviewing technical reports and providing guidance to junior team members.
    Supporting business development, preparing fee proposals and identifying new opportunities.
    Helping develop the team and contributing to its continued growth.About You

    Strong experience in flood risk consultancy, ideally at Senior or Associate level.
    A solid background in Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and planning.
    Experience with hydraulic modelling software and GIS.
    Good knowledge of UK flood risk policy and relevant guidance.
    Confident managing projects and building client relationships.
    Experience mentoring junior colleagues and supporting business development.The Opportunity
