How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Blackley, Manchester M9

    Location: Blackley, Manchester M9
    Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
    Pay: £475-£575 per week
    Contract: Long-term opportunity

    Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackley (M9). The successful candidate will work within a small SEN provision, supporting a teacher and a group of four children with additional needs.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who enjoys working in a smaller, more specialist environment and can provide calm, consistent and individualised support.

    The Role

    You will work closely alongside the class teacher to support the four pupils within the provision, helping to create a structured and positive learning environment. Responsibilities will include:

    Providing targeted support to children with a range of additional needs.
    Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis where required.
    Assisting with learning activities, interventions and classroom routines.
    Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence and engagement.
    Supporting children with their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
    Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

    What We're Looking For

    The school is keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience working with children with SEN or additional needs. You should be patient, adaptable and confident working as part of a small team.

    Experience within a specialist provision, SEN school or primary setting would be highly beneficial, although strong mainstream SEN experience will also be considered.
