How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Principal EIA Consultant

    Leeds

    £45,000 - £50,000

    Are you an experienced Principal EIA Consultant looking for a role where your expertise can genuinely influence major development projects?

    My client is a well-established independent environmental consultancy with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality environmental advice across the UK and internationally. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, collaboration and meaningful environmental work, they are continuing to grow their EIA team.

    As a Principal EIA Consultant, you will work across major infrastructure and development projects, including transport, renewable energy and property. You will coordinate environmental inputs, work closely with technical specialists and design teams, and help shape projects from early strategy and feasibility through to detailed design and consenting.

    The EIA Consultant will also have the opportunity to work across different consenting regimes, prepare EIA documentation and Environmental Statements, liaise with clients and stakeholders, support fee proposals and play an active role in developing junior team members.

    To be considered, you will need:

    Relevant degree-level qualification in EIA, environmental management, planning or a related discipline
    Strong understanding of UK EIA processes and legislation
    Significant experience leading complex, multidisciplinary EIAs
    Excellent report writing and communication skills
    Strong project management and stakeholder engagement experience
    Experience managing budgets and coordinating project deliverables
    Full UK driving licence
    Full right to work in the UK
