How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are working on behalf of a reputable Accident Repair Centre in Bedford to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller. This is a senior Workshop Controller role ideal for a skilled professional looking to join a growing team within a well-established business. The successful Workshop Controller will oversee workshop operations, ensuring efficiency, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.

    Benefits:

    Competitive salary of £45,000 - £50,000 basic, dependent on experience

    Manage the daily workflow of the bodyshop, ensuring smooth vehicle progression through repairs
    Allocate repair jobs to technicians based on their skills and workload
    Monitor repair progress and ensure jobs are completed within planned timescales
    Liaise with the Bodyshop Manager and wider team to maintain operational efficiency
    Ensure technicians have the necessary parts, information, and resources
    Conduct regular quality checks to uphold repair standards
    Support technicians with technical or repair-related questions
    Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
    Work collaboratively with estimators, parts personnel, and the wider team to meet repair targetsRequirements:

    Previous experience as a Workshop Controller within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
    Strong knowledge of vehicle accident repair processes and workflow
    Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload effectively
    Excellent organisational and communication skills
    Attention to detail and a focus on repair quality
    Ability to motivate and support a team of technicians
    Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude
