How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teacher – QTS

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
    Pay: QTS – Paid to Scale

    About the Role

    Are you a passionate SEN Teacher with QTS looking to make a real difference to children and young people?

    Balfor Education is recruiting for a QTS-qualified SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in West Wickham, supporting pupils aged 5–19 with SEMH, Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).

    The school provides a supportive, structured environment with modern facilities designed to promote learning, independence, communication and wellbeing.

    The Role

    As an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, therapists and the wider school team to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated SEN lessons.

    * Support pupils with SEMH, Autism and SLCN.

    * Deliver learning in line with EHCP outcomes and individual targets.

    * Build positive relationships and promote confidence, independence and resilience.

    * Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

    * Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

    * Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.

    * Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.

    * Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour.

    * Contribute to pupils' wider development and the life of the school.

    Requirements

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent.

    * Previous SEN/SEND teaching experience is highly desirable.

    * Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and/or SLCN.

    * Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching.

    * Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.

    * Understanding of EHCPs and individualised learning.

    * Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.

    * Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

    * Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
