How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a recent environmental science, countryside management, earth sciences, geology or geoscience graduate? Are you looking for an exciting position in ground investigation and contaminated land? This geoenvironmental consultancy are seeking a Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer to join their expanding team. With approximately 15 specialist members of staff and a wide range of projects to work on, this consultancy can offer excellent opportunities to kickstart your career.

    The Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer selected will be offered:

    Family friendly policies.The Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer selected for the position will work on a variety of ground investigation projects amongst a consultancy specialising in Phase I Desktop Studies and Phase II Site Investigation & Risk Assessments. You'll be supervising ground investigations, Phase 1 Desk studies, carrying out risk assessments, groundwater and gas monitoring, collecting soil samples, scheduling testing and analysis and writing factual and interpretive reports.

    Therefore, the successful Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer will:

    Have a degree in geology, earth sciences, environmental science, geoscience or a heavily soil focussed subject.
    Have exceptional communication and time management skills.
    Hold a valid UK Driving licence.
    Be commutable to Newcastle upon Tyne.
    Willing to travel to sites and work in office.
