How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Towbar and Trailer Technician position in Edinburgh. This role offers an excellent opportunity for skilled Towbar and Trailer Technicians with a hands-on approach and experience in repairing products and wiring across various industries. The successful Towbar and Trailer Technician will work for a reputable company and enjoy a structured schedule with attractive benefits.

    Benefits:

    Basic salary up to £30,000 depending on experience as a Towbar and Trailer Technician
    OTE (On-Target Earnings) of approximately £36,000
    33 days holiday including bank holidays
    37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday — no weekends required
    Product-specific training provided to succeed in the role
    Opportunity for career progression within a well-established companyDuties:

    Fit towbars to customer vehicles, ensuring all marks and scratches are accurately recorded
    Service and repair the company’s fleet of hire trailers, including flatbed trailers and horseboxes
    Assembling and modifying trailers as required
    Maintain and update detailed records for each trailer to ensure proper servicing
    Ensure all vehicles and trailers are securely parked and handled with care
    Report any damages or issues to the Branch Manager immediately
    Keep tools and equipment in optimal condition and report faults as necessary
    Visit customer premises for repairs and fitting towbars as required
    Drive and operate a forklift truck if trainedRequirements:

    Practical experience in repairing products, preferably in vehicle or trailer maintenance
    Experience in fitting and wiring towbars
    Full, clean driving licence
    Ability to diagnose faults and provide technical advice
    Willingness to undergo forklift training if applicable
    Experience servicing and repairing trailers and similar products is highly desirable
