How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Looking for a busy Customer Service role where no two days are the same?

We’re recruiting for a fantastic Customer Service Advisor opportunity with a well-established organisation in the Nottingham area.

If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and providing great customer service, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you!

This is a full-time, fixed-term position starting ASAP until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of an extension.

Customer Service Advisor - the role

As a Customer Service Advisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, helping with a wide range of queries and making sure every interaction is handled positively and professionally.

You’ll speak to customers across telephone, email, WhatsApp, live chat and social media, so there’s plenty of variety in the role.

During busy periods, you’ll handle a high volume of calls alongside digital enquiries, so you’ll need to be comfortable working at pace while still providing a great customer experience.

    What you'll be doing

As a Customer Service Advisor, your main responsibilities will include:

    • Providing friendly and professional customer service across telephone and digital channels
    • Listening carefully to understand customer needs and providing clear solutions
    • Taking ownership of queries and working towards a positive resolution
    • Handling challenging conversations calmly and confidently
    • Working across multiple computer systems while keeping customer information accurate
    • Working towards agreed performance targets while maintaining high customer service standards

What makes a great Customer Service Advisor?

We’re looking for a Customer Service Advisor who is naturally empathetic, calm and confident when speaking to customers.

    You’ll need:

    • A confident and clear communicator
    • Naturally empathetic and customer focused
    • Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment
    • A good problem solver who can use their own judgement
    • Confident using computers and learning new systems
    • Calm, positive and professional when dealing with customers

Previous experience in customer service, retail, healthcare or another customer-facing environment would be great, but it’s not essential if you have the right approach and communication skills.

    Training and support

You’ll receive structured training and plenty of support when you start.

Your training will give you the opportunity to learn the systems, processes and customer service approach before gradually taking on more responsibility, so you’ll have the support you need as you settle into the role.

    Working hours

This Customer Service Advisor role is based in Nottingham and is fully office based, with no option for hybrid or remote working.

You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, with shifts covering:

    Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 6:30pm
    Saturday: 8:45am - 5:00pm
    Sunday: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Flexibility is essential, as you’ll work two full weekends in every four-week rotation, with time off during the week and two full weekends off.

Please note: Due to the busy nature of the role, annual leave cannot be authorised during the Black Friday period, so applicants will need to be available to work during this particularly busy time.

Customer Service Advisor - what's on offer?

    • £13.15 per hour
    • 37.5 hours per week
    • Fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026
    • Potential for the contract to be extended
    • Structured training and ongoing support
    • Generous employee discounts
    • Pension scheme
    • Flexible benefits including discounted gym membership, life assurance and activity passes
    • Access to free, 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support
