How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bank Support Worker

    We are seeking caring, open-minded Bank Support Workers to help adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs live fulfilling lives in Manchester.

    Position: Bank Support WorkerSalary: £12.71 to £12.84 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus £67 per sleepoverLocation: ManchesterHours: Bank shiftsClosing date: 23rd October 2026

    You will support adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and additional complex needs, helping them enjoy safe, fulfilling lives shaped by their own wishes.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Providing person-centred support that respects each individual’s choices, views and goals.
    Encouraging independence, wellbeing and dignity.
    Supporting people to take part in activities they enjoy, such as walking, cycling, music, films, sport and days out.
    Working with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality support.
    Helping people manage challenges while maintaining a calm, positive approach.

    About you

    You will be open-minded, energetic and respectful, with a strong commitment to helping people live the lives they choose.

    You will be able to stay calm under pressure, work well with others and bring patience and a sense of humour to your role. Experience of supporting people with complex needs and managing risk would be desirable.
