How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Graduate Design Manager - Central London

I'm currently working with a well-established construction and property consultancy that is looking to add a Graduate Design Manager to its growing London team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking to build a career in design management, project delivery and construction consultancy, working alongside experienced professionals across a variety of high-profile projects.

    The Role

As a Graduate Design Manager, you'll support the delivery of projects from the early design stages through to construction, gaining exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of project delivery.
You'll work closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other consultants, helping to coordinate design information and ensure projects progress effectively.
    Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting Senior Design Managers and Project Managers across live projects
Assisting with the coordination and management of design teams
Reviewing and coordinating design information and drawings
Supporting design reviews and project meetings
Monitoring design programmes, deliverables and key project milestones
Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders
Assisting with managing design changes and resolving technical issues
Supporting the preparation of reports, project documentation and meeting minutes
Developing your understanding of construction processes, procurement and project delivery
Working towards taking increasing responsibility for design management packages as your experience develops

    About You

The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate or early-career professional with a relevant degree and a genuine interest in pursuing a career within design management and construction consultancy.
    You'll ideally have:

A degree in Construction Management, Design Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline
Some exposure to the construction industry through a placement, internship or graduate role (ideal but not essential)
A strong understanding of construction and the design process
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
A genuine desire to develop a long-term career within construction consultancy

    Why Consider It?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative consultancy environment where you'll receive structured development and exposure to a broad range of projects.
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced industry professionals, develop your technical knowledge and take on increasing responsibility as you progress your career.
If you're a graduate looking to establish yourself within design management and want the opportunity to work on exciting projects in Central London, I'd be keen to speak with you.
