How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Banksman / Traffic Marshal

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
    Pay: £12.71
    Job Type: Full-time

    About the Role

    We are looking for an experienced Banksman / Traffic Marshal to join our team. The successful candidate will have previous experience working around bulk vehicles and site traffic management and will be responsible for helping ensure the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians around the site.

    You will work closely with drivers, site operatives and management to maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Safely guide and direct bulk vehicles around the site.

    * Act as a Banksman during vehicle reversing and manoeuvring.

    * Direct large vehicles safely and assist drivers with positioning.

    * Manage and control site traffic, ensuring vehicles and pedestrians remain safely separated.

    * Communicate clearly with drivers using agreed hand signals and radio communication.

    * Ensure vehicles enter, leave and move around the site safely.

    * Follow all site health & safety procedures and traffic-management rules.

    * Carry out regular safety checks and report hazards or issues immediately.

    * Work closely with drivers, site operatives and management to maintain safe site operations.

    * Keep the working area clean, organised and safe.

    * Assist with general site duties when required.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience working as a Banksman, Traffic Marshal

    * Experience working around bulk/heavy vehicles.

    * Experience with traffic management and vehicle movements.

    * Good understanding of workplace health and safety.

    * Confident communicating with drivers and site personnel.

    * Ability to follow instructions and site procedures.

    * Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work as part of a team.
