How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher

    Barnet, London | £(Apply online only) per day, depending on relevant experience

    Full-time, long-term temporary; Monday to Friday, term time
    Start date and exact working hours to be agreed before placement.

    Prospero Teaching is recruiting a SEN Teacher in Barnet to plan and deliver learning for pupils with autism and associated learning needs. The role requires a clear understanding of how communication, sensory differences and individual starting points affect access to the curriculum. You will combine structured teaching with flexible approaches that respond to pupils' progress.

    Your responsibilities

    Plan sequenced lessons around individual learning goals and EHCP outcomes.
    Use visual resources and accessible communication to support understanding.
    Assess academic, communication and independence progress in manageable steps.
    Deploy teaching assistants effectively and agree consistent classroom routines.
    Work with families and relevant professionals to review and refine support.

    What you will need

    QTS and relevant experience teaching pupils with SEND.
    Evidence of adapting teaching for autism, communication or learning needs.
    Strong planning, assessment and positive behaviour support skills.Special-school experience or experience leading SEND provision within mainstream is desirable. Please state your phase specialism and curriculum experience.
