How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: CNC Machinist

    Location: Manchester

    Hours: 7am-7pm 5,5,4

    Salary: Up to £49,865

    Require CNC and programming experience within a highly regulated enviroment

    The Role

    Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their workshop team in Manchester.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with strong CNC, CAD/CAM and programming experience to join an established aviation engineering environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality components while ensuring work is completed accurately, safely and in accordance with required engineering standards.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    *

    Operating and programming CNC machinery to manufacture components to required specifications

    *

    Using CAD/CAM software to support CNC machining and programming activities

    *

    Programming and editing using G-code, M-code and NC programming

    *

    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical information and CNC programmes

    *

    Setting up machines, tooling and workpieces for machining operations

    *

    Carrying out conventional and CNC machining activities

    *

    Troubleshooting machining, programming and equipment issues

    *

    Ensuring manufactured components meet required quality and dimensional standards

    *

    Working in accordance with relevant health, safety and engineering procedures

    *

    Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop and machining environment

    What We’re Looking For

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    *

    Previous industry experience within CNC machining, CAD/CAM or advanced machining

    *

    A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Advanced Engineering, or an equivalent relevant qualification

    *

    Strong working knowledge of G-code, M-code and NC programming

    *

    Experience with both conventional and CNC machining

    *

    Strong CNC machining troubleshooting and technical knowledge

    *

    Experience using CAD/CAM programming software

    *

    The ability to interpret engineering drawings and CNC programmes

    *

    Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Hurco CNC control systems

    *

    Relevant CNC, CAD/CAM or machining qualifications

    *

    A strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
