How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Bid Manager | UK | Major Infrastructure | Work Winning

I'm working with a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Bid Manager to join its Work Winning team.

This is a senior role for someone who can take ownership of complex, high-value bids and bring together technical, operational and commercial teams to develop compelling solutions that ultimately win work.

You'll have real influence over the bid strategy, working closely with senior leadership and client stakeholders while helping shape some of the UK's most important water and infrastructure projects.

    The role

Lead major and strategically important bids from opportunity through to submission
Develop and implement effective bid strategies
Take ownership of the overall bid programme, governance and submission
Lead multi-disciplinary teams across technical, operational and commercial functions
Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders
Develop compelling, compliant and commercially focused proposals
Challenge and influence solutions to maximise win potential
Manage multiple complex bids and competing deadlines
Support the wider Work Winning team and contribute to continuous improvement

    What they're looking for

Strong Bid Management / Work Winning experience within a Tier 1 contractor
Experience leading complex, high-value construction or infrastructure bids
Strong understanding of construction and civil engineering
Water sector experience would be highly advantageous
Excellent strategic, written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
AMPM accreditation at Foundation, Practitioner or Professional level - or willingness to achieve itYou don't have to match every requirement perfectly. If you're an experienced Bid Manager looking to step into a more senior position, or an established Senior Bid Manager looking for a new challenge, I'd be keen to speak.

    Why consider it?

You'll be joining a major UK infrastructure business with an extensive project portfolio spanning water, rail, highways, airports, energy and wider civil engineering.

    Interested?

If you're an experienced Senior Bid Manager with a background in construction or infrastructure, get in touch for a confidential conversation.
