How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Make a meaningful impact through personalised primary education.
Remedy Tutors are looking for passionate and experienced Primary SEN Tutors, Specialist Tutors and 1:1 Tutors to support primary-aged children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
You'll provide tailored 1:1 tuition across the primary curriculum, helping pupils build confidence, overcome barriers to learning and make meaningful progress towards their individual goals.
Sessions may take place in pupils' homes, primary schools or community settings, offering flexibility and the opportunity to create a learning environment that works for each child.
    The Role
As a Primary SEN Tutor, you will:
Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition for primary-aged pupils.
Support children with needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language needs, SEMH and other learning difficulties.
Teach across the primary curriculum, with a particular focus on English, maths, and early learning skills.
Assess each child's learning needs and establish appropriate objectives.
Plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons aligned with individual learning plans and, where appropriate, the National Curriculum.
Adapt teaching approaches, resources and strategies to suit each child's age, developmental stage and needs.
Build positive relationships and develop pupils' confidence, independence and motivation.
Monitor progress and provide clear reports on learning and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, SENCOs and other professionals.
Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Follow appropriate safeguarding and SEND procedures.
    What we're looking for
We'd love to hear from candidates who have:
Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEND/SEN.
Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, interventions or personalised classroom support.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly English, maths and phonics.
A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification, such as QTS, PGCE/PGDE or another relevant certification.
A good understanding of different SEN needs and effective primary teaching strategies.
The ability to make learning engaging, accessible and age appropriate.
Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
An Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete the required process.
    Specialist experience welcome
    We particularly welcome tutors with:
Experience working in primary SEN schools, specialist provisions or primary resource bases.
    Specialist SEN/SEND qualifications.
Level 3, Level 4 or Level 5 education or SEN qualifications.
    Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) qualifications.
Training or experience in phonics, early literacy, numeracy or communication-based interventions.
Experience supporting children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, ADHD, autism, speech and language needs or SEMH.
Experience using visual timetables, sensory resources, Makaton, PECS or other communication strategies.
Experience delivering intervention programmes or personalised learning plans.
Experience supporting pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Experience supporting children who are disengaged from mainstream education or accessing alternative provision.
    Why work with Remedy?
Flexible primary tutoring opportunities to suit your availability.
    Meaningful 1:1 teaching environments.
Opportunities to work across homes, primary schools and community settings.
Support from a dedicated education recruitment team.
Opportunities to develop your primary SEN and specialist teaching experience.
Work with children who have a wide range of additional needs.
Competitive rates of pay based on experience, qualifications, location and assignment.
Ongoing opportunities through a specialist education recruitment agency.
    Competitive Rates
Rates vary depending on location, experience, qualifications, specialist SEN expertise and the individual assignment.
As a guide, specialist primary SEN and 1:1 tutoring roles may attract higher rates depending on the complexity and level of support required.
Indicative rate: starting from approximately £23.79 per hour.
Rates are indicative only. The actual rate offered by Remedy Tutors may vary according to the assignment, pupil requirements, location, qualifications and experience.
